The Story

Mark Comberiate is an award-winning producer and cinematographer with a passion for documentary based out of Washington, D.C. In collaboration with Journey Films, he has helped craft several feature-length projects including the Emmy Award-winning documentary “Backs Against The Wall: The Howard Thurman Story.”

Mark obtained a B.S. in Film Production from Southern Adventist University where his capstone documentary short won “Best Student Film” at the International Christian Film Festival. In 2017, Mark joined Journey Films to use his knowledge of story and cinematography to help produce a series of biographical documentaries titled “Prophetic Voices.” While producing films on Howard Thurman, Dorothy Day and Abraham Heschel, he has captured interviews with countless scholars, politicians and icons including: Jesse Jackson, John Lewis, Timothy Kaine, Joan Chittister, Barbara Brown Taylor, Andrew Young and Cornel West.
